Cameron Sheffield won the Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District’s Camp Wildwood Scholarship.
WHITMIRE — Cameron Sheffield from Whitmire Community School and a member of the Newberry County Career Center FFA, won the Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District “Camp Wildwood” Scholarship.
The scholarship is available to students interested in attending DNR’s Camp Wildwood, “a high energy hands on, outdoor environmental camp” where students can discover nature and how everything we do in some way affects the natural balance.
Camp Wildwood teaches students the need for protecting and using our natural resources wisely. Self-reliance, self-discipline and independence in an outdoor setting is an integral part of the weekly topics.
The scholarship covered tuition for the camp which amounts to $200 per camper for one week.
