CHAPIN — Miss Lottie Elizabeth Meggett, 69, of 140 Fairhaven Way, Chapin, died Monday at her home.

Born in Chapin, she was the daughter of the late Amos Meggett Sr. and the late Ella Hook Meggett.

She was a member of Providence A.M.E. Church in Little Mountain and she retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Surviving are three brothers, James Albert Hook of Chapin, Amos Meggett Jr. and Julius O’Neal Meggett (Susan), both of Little Mountain; four sisters, Maggie Lee Mayers (James) of Columbia, Ellen Mayers, Flanzie Smith (Richard) and Evelyn Meggett of Chapin; two goddaughters, five aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services and burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Providence A.M.E. Church. Viewing to be held one hour prior to service.

Wilson Funeral Home of Newberry is handling arrangements.
