COLUMBIA — James Franklin Point Sr., 59, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Palmetto Health Richland.
Born on Nov. 11, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, he was a son of Janice Loraine Arnold Point and the late John H. Point.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and a former member of Lewis United Methodist Church. Mr. Point enjoyed sports and woodworking.
He is survived in addition to his mother by a son, James Franklin “Jimmy” Point Jr. of Pomaria; daughters, Allie Compton of Prosperity and Aminee Marissa Point of Newberry; sisters, Pam Aschbrenner, Vicki Trotter and Sue Day; a brother Dave Point; grandchildren, Landon and Kiley Compton. Mr. Point was predeceased by a granddaughter, Riley Compton.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at at 2 p.m. at Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.
