WHITMIRE — David Calhoun Hill, 73, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his residence.

Born on Oct. 19, 1939, in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mary Wyse Hill.

He was a veteran of the S.C. Army National Guard and was retired after 40 years from American Fiber and Finishing.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce McCullough Hill; a son, Johnathan David Hill of Whitmire; a daughter, Renee McDermott of Whitmire; sisters, Spruce Sundeen of Calif. and Peggy Counts of Little Mountain; brothers, James Hill of Newberry, Albert Hill of Little Mountain and Wyse Hill of Pomaria; a grandson, Benjamin McDermott.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 13795 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry, SC 29108 or the American Cancer Society, 303 W. Alexander Aveneu, Suite 1, Greenwood, SC 29646.
