SILVERSTREET — Paul Aaron “Pete” Stoudemire, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Providence Hospital.

Born on Nov. 21, 1933, in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Robert Dewey and Rosa Marie Rauch Stoudemire.

He was retired from ISE-America and was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church where he was a former church councilman. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a former Mason, Shriner, Silverstreet volunteer fireman and Silverstreet town councilman.

Mr. Stoudemire is survived by his wife, Peggy Langley Stoudemire; a son, Paul Gregory Stoudemire of Silverstreet; a daughter, Paula S. Gable of Lexington; a sister, Betty S. Kennedy of West Columbia; grandchildren, Holly N. Gable and Russell Aaron Gable; aunt, Cholie Slice of Chapin; niece, Mindy Lominick of Pomaria; great-niece, Adrian McDade; great-nephew, Buddy Lominick. He was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Stoudemire Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Silverstreet Lutheran Church by the Rev. Harry Crout. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The visitation was held Thursday from 6- 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Craig Kesler, Buddy Lominick, Bill Lominick, Doug Heydt, Jay Piersol and Larry Longshore

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Bowers, Maffett Fant, Phillip Sanders, Ned Kesler, Jimmy Bundrick, David Haltiwanger, Bill Waldrop and Dave Waldrop.
