NEWBERRY — A third arrest was made Thursday related to the bomb threat at Newberry High School.

A 16-year-old male was charged Thursday with Conveying a Bomb Threat and was transported to the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia where he will be held awaiting a detention hearing.

The juvenile is the third person charged with making the bomb threat that caused the school to be evacuated Monday. Daisha Kibler, 17, and another 16-year-old were arrested Tuesday on the same charges, officials said.

Authorities said the three acted together in conveying the threat.

Officers have remained on and around the campus for extra security over the last several days and according to school district personnel, the school has returned to normal operation. The students were returned to the school Monday after bomb sniffing dogs cleared the school.
