Paul Kiester Franklin
PROSPERITY — Paul Kiester Franklin, 83, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 8, 1929, in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Wister Brown and Lizzie P. Bobb Franklin. He was a farmer and carpenter and a founding member of the Lower Newberry Farmers Association. Mr. Franklin was a member of Colony Lutheran Church where he was a former cemetery superintendent, member of the church council and property committee.
He is survived by nephews, Wilford (Alberta) Moates of Pomaria, Wyman (Toni) Counts of Greenville and Danny (Patsy) Richardson of Prosperity; great-nieces and nephews, Phyllis (Henry) Jackson, Connie (Keith) Pearson, Randy (Nancy) Cannon, Cathy (Ray) Counts, Gary Counts, and David (Kelly) Richardson; and numerous great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pearson, 148 Pig Trail Lane, Pomaria, and they will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Ethan Hancock, Dean Brown, Clifford Shealy, Donnie Sligh, Jimmy Cook and Billy Gallman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Beth and Carroll Sanders, Glenn Hamm, George Hallman Sligh, Kenny Sanders, Roger and Lucy Jackson and members of the Colony Lutheran Church Property Committee and Church Council.

PROSPERITY — Funeral services for Marvin “Red” Elliott Morris, 80, who died Saturday, March 16, 2013, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Anthony and Missy Dennis, 5995 S.C. Highway 391, Prosperity and will receive friends following the service at the church.
