God wants us to bear the fruit of his Spirit and to show his love in the world.

Galatians 5:22-23 lists the qualities of fruit associated with the Holy Spirit.

“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

The fruit of the Holy Spirit is firstly, love.

Joy is enjoying the goodness of God. Peace is accepting the promises of God.

Kindness is showing love to others. Goodness is choosing to do what is right in God’s eyes.

Faithfulness is remaining true to the foundation in Jesus Christ.

Gentleness is understanding what another person is going through.

The joy, peace, and happiness we desire in life are not anything we can go out and find on our own.

It comes directly from the work of the Holy Spirit in us. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to reveal God’s wisdom and to help us be more like Jesus.

When we choose to receive God’s love and let it fill our heart, then God’s love will guide us.

God wants us to be faithful and fruitful.
