NMS Lady Tigers go 10-2 on season

NEWBERRY — The Newberry Middle School Lady Tigers finished the 2012-2013 season 10-2, with an average of 37 points per game.

In the final home game the Lady Tigers defeated long time rival Mid Carolina 38-9.

Senior members of the team are Nigeria Davis, Jaila Perry, Trinette Jones, Anna Gray and Shakeva Boyd.

In the final game of the season Rayanna Davis led the way for the Lady Tigers to yet another victory against Mid Carolina with 20 points.

Contributing to the win were Nigeria Davis with 10 points, Lindsey Ruff with seven points, Kelsey Felks with three points and Anna Gray with a point.

Other members that make up this outstanding team and made this season so successful were Rehgan Miller injured list, Kennedy Caldwell, Melodee Lyles-Dean, Kelsey Havird, Elyssia Marcavage and Samaria Elkins, team manager.

“I’m very proud of this group of young ladies with the way they carried themselves and the way they represented Newberry Middle School and Newberry County. We often talked about putting God first in everything that we do and being leaders on and off the court,” said head coach Missy Grey. “I’d also like to offer a special thanks to assistant coaches Ojetta Moze and Leon Whitener for giving of themselves and their time to help develop this team into the best that they can be.”
