NEWBERRY — The Newberry High School golf team is 1-0 after defeating Dutch Fork at The Country Club of Newberry by a score of 174-189.
Newberry senior Zach Sherman was the overall medalist, scoring an even par 36 in the nine-hole match.
Newberry’s golf team consists of seniors Sherman, Caleb Hedgepeth, Sloan Hazel, Clayton Yoder, Jacob Hopper and freshman Tyler Havird. The coaches are Bob Bannister and Gary McGlohorn.
The Bulldogs travel to Clinton on Tuesday to take on the Clinton Red Devils.
