WHITMIRE — Pamela Bradley was the first student at the new adult education GED class housed at Whitmire Community School to graduate this school year.

Teacher Kerry Suber said he was proud of her for returning to school and earning a high school credential.

David Green, adult education director, said Bradley set an example for other students in the class. Bradley also has two children attending Whitmire Community and a daughter attending Piedmont Technical College.

Bradley said she is proud of her accomplishment and hopes it sets an example for her children to follow. Since she got her GED, she has applied for a managerial position where she works and hopes her future offers more job advancements.

Bradley said she would not have been able to attend GED classes if it had not been offered locally. She said she hopes more adults will take advantage of it.
