NEWBERRY — The Newberry Recreation Department is accepting registration for Newberry’s first Hershey’s Track and Field Games to be held at 2 p.m. March 9 at Newberry High School’s track.
Boys and girls ages 9 to 14 can participate. Winners will advance to the state meet on June 1 in Mt. Pleasant.
Events will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4x100 meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw.
The Hershey’s Track and Field Games is sponsored by The Hershey’s Company and partnered with the National Recreation and Park Association, Athletics Canada, Key Club International and National Association for Sport and Physical Education.
