NEWBERRY — The City of Newberry’s free movie nights will continue Friday with a showing of “Three Stooges” at the Newberry Opera House. Showtime is 7 p.m. and seating is general admission.

The movie is free as are the refreshments, which are sponsored by Hardee’s and First Baptist Church.

The free movie series is an effort to give residents a venue for entertainment downtown and to hopefully get residents to return to the downtown area for dining and shopping on later occasions.

The city is also sponsoring Dine Around Town in downtown on March 6 featuring food from eateries in downtown Newberry.

A four course dinner will be provided by The Cabana Café, The Grille on Main, Steven W’s and The Flying Pie. A complementary gift will be provided by Cathy’s Cakery.

Happy Hour and after-dinner drink specials will be featured at Half Full and Pour Richard’s to ticket holders.

Call the Parks, Recreation and Tourism office at 321-1015 for more information. The deadline to buy tickets is March 1.
