NORTH — Betty H. Derrick, 82, of North, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at North United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Newberry Memorial Gardens at 3 p.m. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Mrs. Derrick was born in Newberry, a daughter of the late William and Gracie Bouknight Harmon. She was a member of North United Methodist Church, former member of the Easter Star, former chairperson of the North Beautification Committee and co-owner of Derrick’s Hardware.

Survivors include a daughter, Georgette (Thomas) Godowns of Cope; a granddaughter, Hope Stucker of North; a grandson, Jonathan Derrick of Charleston; two grandchildren, Katelyn Powell and Dwight Powell III; a brother, Donald Lee Harmon of Ocala, Fla. and a stepson, Thomas Godowns III of Cope. She was predeceased by her husband Furman Derrick.

The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfh.com) and other times at the home on 240 Derrick St.

Memorials may be made to North United Methodist Church.
