LAKELAND, Fla. — In the final competition of the season, Florida Southern won its fifth straight dual meet with a 148-44 decision over Daytona State College. Freshman and Newberry High graduate Virginia Summer took first place in the 100-yard backstroke and third place in the 200-yard freestyle with personal best times.
Florida Southern will now prepare for the Sunshine State Conference in Clearwater, Fla., that begins Feb. 13.
