NEWBERRY — A teen has been charged with shooting a man on Wise Street.
Around 2 p.m. on Jan. 6, Dlonze Ruff, 17, of Newberry Arms, Newberry, got into an altercation with another man, according to Newberry Police Captain Kevin Atkins.
During the disagreement Ruff reportedly pulled out a gun and fired several rounds at the other person.
The bullets struck the victim in the upper body and chest area, according to Atkins.
Ruff was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. At press time, Ruff was being held at the Newberry County Detention Center.
Atkins says the victim was airlifted to a regional hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
