On Jan. 25, 2002, my mother died of lung cancer. My family and I walked with her each step of the way from her diagnosis until her death. And, even though my mother was not a cancer survivor, I walked the first lap in her memory at the Relay for LIfe that year. What an experience that was.
During 2012,t he WELCA (Miriam Circle) of Redeemer decided to do a “Let’s Lick Cancer” campaign for Relay for Life. As a matter of fact, we have four cancer survivors in our circle. So far, we have raised around $2,000. But of course we would like to raise another $2,000 or even more.
By now I am sure you know my reason for writing you. Yes it’s to ask for your support in our campaign by purchasing a corporate sign that will be on display around the Relay for Life track. The cost fort his sign is $100. If you are unable to purchase sign, you may make a donation of over $10 to $99 and receive a decal to display in your business to show your support for Relay for Life. The form for either of these sponsorships is enclosed in this envelope.
There are also corporate sponsorships with a minimum donation of $250. If you would like to become one of these sponsors, please let me know and I will get that information to you as soon as possible.
Your check should be made out to the American Cancer Society and returned with our form to me at the following address. I will also be glad to come by and pick up your check/form.
Anne Caughman, c/o Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1515 Boundary Street, Newberry, S.C. 29108.
You may call me at 276-8056 or 924-0956.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and respond to this request. As always, if you are not able to assist WELCA in its “Let’s Lick Cancer” campaign, we understand. Just remember us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue with this special project.
All sponsorships should be sent in to me by Monday, Feb. 25.
Thank you,
Anne Caughman
