Hello everyone. Local news and weather to talk about but first the birthday wishes from Gottrocks. In upcoming news and events

“Weather or not,” you’re ready for a cold winter chicken stew, Otis Jennings is cooking up one of his famous stews for a fund raiser Jan. 26. The stew is $5 per quart. Pick up will be at Evans Street Church of God’s Social Hall.

The TERA Group – Tyger-Enoree River Alliance - led by Whitmire resident Jon Durham have six canoe trips planned this spring. The group will also host a meeting this Friday at Roches Barn on Union Street at 7:30 p.m. This meeting will be an informative meeting as the Tyger and Enoree River are two of Sumter National Forests and Whitmire’s prize outdoor assets.

The Interfaith Community Services will host a meeting Jan. 24 at Colony Lutheran Church, located on Highway 76 at 7:30 p.m. The executive board will meet prior to the regular meeting time.

The Whitmire Pack #200 Cub Scouts host their meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 7 p.m. at the Whitmire Community Center.
