NEWBERRY — The Carolinian Society’s annual ball was held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Country Club of Newberry.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve William Smith, chairpersons of the Board of Governors, the debutantes and their mothers received members and guests. Following a reception, the ball chairman, Mr. Kyle Brandon Parker, introduced the Carolinian Society members presenting debutantes. Presentation of the debutantes was followed by the Grand March, dancing and dinner.

Miss Elizabeth Mae McLeod, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edward McLeod Jr., was presented by her father and escorted by Mr. Joseph Thomas Berry. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edward McLeod Sr., Mrs. Velma Gifford and the late Mr. Leland Edrie Gifford.

Miss Kathryn Ann Cochcroft, daughter of Mary Harvey (Shellie) Cochcroft and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Barton Cochcroft, was presented by her grandfather, Mr. Wildrum Alfred Harvey and was escorted by Mr. Dylan Brett Amick. Kathryn is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wildrum Alfred Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Welborn, and the late Mr. Arthur Franklin Cochcroft.

Attending his first ball was Mr. James Earle Bethea IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Earle Bethea III. Miss Jordyn Christine Tourville attended as his date. He was introduced by his parents.
