PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina boys basketball team is now 5-7 and 1-1 in the region after weekend play.
On Saturday Mid-Carolina team lost to Dutch Fork High School 51-72.
Mid-Carolina’s Danton Hyman was the top scorer for the team with 16 points. Brent Caldwell followed with 10 points, Javarius Nelson had nine, Cornelius Glasgow scored six, Tevarres Taylor shot five points, Zach Parker made three points and Marcus Chapman and Hunter Berry each had a point.
Dutch Fork’s Freddie Poole scored the most for his team with 19 points.
Friday the Rebels defeated Ninety Six 62-58 and gave Ninety Six a loss in region play.
Mid-Carolina 62 5-6 overall 1-0 region
Ninety Six 58 0-1 region
Cornelius Glasgow was the high scorer for the Rebels with 19 points. Hyman followed closely with 17.
Parker scored eight points, Caldwell had seven, Taylor made six, Nelson shot three points and Marcus McMorris had two points.
Marquise Williams was the top scorer for Ninety Six with 12 points.
