Newberry High and Mid-Carolina highlight the Secondnd Annual Newberry College Christmas Classic basketball tournament at Eleazer Arena on the campus of Newberry College on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, hosted by Newberry High School and Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Chad Cary.

Four games will be played daily starting at 3:30 p.m. each day.

Clinton and Brookland-Cayce return from the field a year ago, when Newberry High won the championship over Easley in a thriller.

The four new teams are Aiken, Fort Mill, Saluda and Columbia High in what proves to be an exciting event.

“We are excited to again bring eight quality high school programs, their players, coaches, cheerleaders and fans to our campus,” said Newberry College head basketball coach Dave Davis. “Last year’s tournament was highly competitive and an outstanding community event. We hope everyone will come out to watch these games.”

Wednesday’s opening games at 3:30 p.m. has Aiken vs Saluda, 5 p.m. Columbia vs. Fort Mill, 630 p.m. Clinton vs Mid-Carolina and the 8 p.m. game is Brookland Cayce vs Newberry.

Winners of each game will advance and the losing teams will play consolation games as each team will play each day.

Tickets are $5 each and only the South Carolina High School Pass will be honored.
