Evans Street between College and Glenn streets is closed for sewer line work. The rehab project will include installing a new man hole. The work was postponed until Newberry College student left for Christmas break since the line serves the college campus. The contractor ran into a few surprises as work started on Tuesday morning but Newberry City Manager Jeff Shacker said he is hopeful that the street can be reopened prior to Christmas.
