PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina tennis team defeated Whitmire 5-2 on Monday.
The win clinched the Rebels position in the region playoffs, which was a first for Mid-Carolina in the five year history of the team.
The Mid-Carolina team will complete the season on Tuesday and Oct. 24.
The results from the Monday game with Whitmire were:

#3 Singles - Madyson Murphy vs Haley Hughes 6-0, 7-5
#4 Singles - Gracie Eldridge vs Anna Hall 5-7, 7-5, 10-2
#5 Singles - Emily Livingston vs Rebecca Glymph 6-4, 5-7, 6-10
#1 Doubles - Calais and Sanders vs Hughes and Norton 8-2
#2 Doubles - Brooke Ball and Sydney Willingham vs Mackenzie Reel and Alexis Swain 6-4, 4-6, 10-5
