NEWBERRY — James Lee “P.Y.” Boulware Sr., 66, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the Dorn VA Medical Center.

Born on Dec. 12, 1945, in Whitmire, he was a son of the late O.T. And Emma Bennett Boulware.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked in the textile industry and also was a carpenter who did home repairs. Mr. Boulware was a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church and the VFW, DAV and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Koon Boulware; a son, Jimmy Boulware of Newberry; daughters, Monica Nix and Debbie Ammons both of Laurens and Sharon Price of Clinton; a sister, Brenda White of Newberry; brothers, Donald Boulware of Whitmire and Bobby Boulware of Laurens; a nephew of the home, Joseph Fuller; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Boulware was predeceased by a son, Randy Landers, sisters, Margaret Prince and Sarah Malone, brothers, Charles Boulware and Junior Boulware.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, from 6–8 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Thompson, Joseph Fuller, Clifton Harris, James Noah “Peanut” Price, Juan Contrase and Jefferson “Bubba” Koon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher James “C.J.” Edgins and Derrick Lee “D.J.” Tucker.

McSwain-Evans Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
