If your dog or cat goes missing, call Animal Control at 321-2185 immediately.
Put a sign in front of your house to tell passersby that your pet is missing.
People who find an animal often search the neighborhood for the owners.
Visit the animal shelter daily to see the strays that have been picked up.
Strays are held for five days and then they are released for adoption, or they are killed.
You cannot depend on the person who takes your call recognizing a pet from your description.
Take a photo to the shelter.
If your cat is missing, you have even less time to claim it. Cats that are trapped and transported are traumatized, and they all look like feral cats. They are likely to be killed on arrival at the shelter.
Take a photo to the shelter.
No one wants to kill your pet, or any other animal.
Please call Animal Control and visit the shelter.
