The Newberry County Disabilities Board and Ruth S. Pugh Foundation honored Carla Creekmore on Saturday as the recipient of the 2012 Self Advocate of the Year. Creekmore is an active member of Voices for PRIDE, self-advocacy committee and serves as secretary/treasurer for the group. She is employed with Newberry Industries. Creekmore receives the award from Harold Folk, chairperson of the Ruth S. Pugh Foundation.
