The annual used book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Newberry County Library System has been scheduled for Oct. 19-20.

In addition to hardback and paperback books, audio and video tapes and CD’s will be sold. All proceeds will benefit the Newberry County Library System.

Hours for the sale are between 3-6 p.m. for members of the Friends and between 6-9 p.m. for the public on Oct. 19. The sale will continue on Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The sale will be held at 1206 Main St., across from Books on Main.

Book lovers will find many of their favorite authors books at the sale such as Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Jan Karon and many others. Books are sorted into categories, including mysteries, biographies, reference, cookbooks, science fiction, the classics, novels of all types and children’s books.

These books are priced to sell fast, according to Kendie Hawkins, book sale chair person. This year our hardbacks will sell to $2 while paperbacks will sell for $1.

All money received from the sale will be used for the benefit of the Newberry County Library System. This year, the Friends group donated $6,000 to the library to fund e-books.

Book donations are still welcome and can be brought to the sight any Saturday morning between now and Oct. 13 between 10 a.m. and noon.

For information, please call Audrey Henry, president at 276-6072 or Hawkins at 364-3141.
