Man sentenced in electronic monitoring case

A Whitmire man was sentenced to time in general sessions court last week after not charging his electronic monitoring system.

Joe Nathan Neal, 42, of 1935 Drayton St., Newberry, pleaded guilty to willful violation of terms of electronic motoring.

He reportedly failed to charge his monitoring system after being told to do so by S.C. Probation, Pardon and Pardon agents.

Neal was sentenced to serve five years in prison for the offense.

In other cases heard during general sessions court in Newberry County last week:

• Christopher R. Racine, of 950 Speers St., Newberry pleaded guilty to larceny and was sentenced to 30 days in jail; suspended to time served.

Racine also pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to three years; suspended to 75 days in jail and 25 months probation.

• Antonio Maurice Henderson, 27, of 34 Kookie Lane, Whitmire, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

• Kayla Marie Stephens, 25, of 226 Slayton St., Whitmire, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Stephens also pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years under the youthful offender program; suspended to 42 days and five months probation.

• Timothy M. Johnson Jr., 37, of 105 Hass Lucas Road, Gaston, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was sentenced to a year in prison.

• Johnathan Blake Crumpton, 29, of 66 Laurens Drive, Newberry, pleaded guilty to criminal domestic violence and was sentenced to five months in prison and a fine of $2,500.

Crumpton also pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to 10 years; suspended to five months in prison and five years probation.

Crumpton also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to five months.

• Marcus Scott Stribble, 23, of 1401 Popular St., Newberry pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days; suspended to three days in jail.

Stribble also pleaded guilty to grand larceny and was sentenced to a term not to exceed five years under the youthful offender act; suspended to three days in jail and two years probation.

• Jamie Ray Hill, 19, of 46 Dreher Island Road, Little Mountain, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days in jail; suspended to time served.

• Reginald Wade Mayers, 18,of 1638 Indian Land Drive, Newberry, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days; suspended to time served of 30 days.

Mayers also pleaded guilty to breaking into a motor vehicle and was sentenced to five years in prison; suspended to 30 days in jail and 24 months probation.

• William Joseph Newcomb, 46, of 114 Church St., Prosperity, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Newcomb also pleaded guilty to financial transaction card fraud and was sentenced to five years in prison; suspended to one year and five years probation.
