A fight over the weekend resulted in one person being stabbed and a second being arrested.

The two Prosperity men got into the fight on Mt. Pilgrim Church Road on Sunday after the suspect, David Stanley Kingsmore, 37, of 4840 Mt. Pilgrim Church Road, Prosperity, saw an unknown person at the home of his estranged wife.

The 36-year-old Prosperity victim is reportedly the boyfriend of the estranged wife.

The two men reportedly started fighting and Kingsmore allegedly pulled out a knife and claims he was forced to stab the man multiple times to get him off top of him.

But Kingsmore said the alleged victim continued to hit him.

Kingsmore was able to flee the scene and call 911. The suspect was taken to Newberry County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The victim left driving to the hospital and was then taken to Palmetto-Richland.

Kingsmore was later arrested and charged on Tuesday with attempted murder.
