CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Newberry College golfers Nabila Inak and Karly Mims were named All-American Scholars as announced by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday.

The Newberry College women’s golf program has a long history of academic and athletic success, with the WGCA All-American Scholar award ranking as one of the toughest academic honors in collegiate sports. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50.

Both Inak and Mims were named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll in June. Inak has a 3.9117 grade point average while majoring in biology and Mims has a 3.5985 grade point average while majoring in nursing.

Nabila Inak, who graduated from the Bronx HS of Science and is from Forest Hills, N.Y., recently wrapped up a great freshman season with a third place finish at the South Atlantic Conference Championships to earn First Team All-Tournament honors. Her 225 (76-71-78, +9) was only two strokes out of first place. That score is the fourth-best score in the history of the SAC Championships.

Inak was named honorable mention to the all-South Atlantic Conference teams and finished the year with three top five finishes and a team-best 79.71 stroke average. She carded two rounds of 71 on the season.

Karly Mims, a graduate of nearby Airport HS, recently completed her sophomore season with second team all-South Atlantic Conference honors. This will be her second appearance at the Judson Collegiate. She is the 33rd all-time all-conference honoree for Newberry College in womens golf, which extends a South Atlantic Conference record.

She had three top 10 finishes this year, including a fifth place individual finish at the Agnes McAmis Memorial, where the Wolves were also the team champions. Mims’ season-low round was a 75 in the opening round of the Pfieffer Invitational. She finished the year with a stroke average of 79.81.
