PROSPERITY — Andrew Boland competed in the Dixieland Karate Tournament in Myrtle Beach on Aug. 15.

The tournament is a national tournament with competitors from Canada and the United States.

Boland placed first in intermediate belt, 14-15 year old boy’s traditional weapons. He also placed fourth in the semifinals round for all, 10-17 intermediate under belts weapons.

Boland also competed in the under belts finals and placed second in overall 10-17 year olds intermediate weapons.

Boland is a member Earwood’s karate dojo’s Team God Squad and a freshman at Mid-Carolina High School. He is the son of Dean and Julie Boland from Little Mountain.
