HARTSVILLE — The Newberry women’s lacrosse team (4-6, 0-3 SAC) fell to the Coker Cobras (6-2, 3-0 SAC) by a final of 19-4 on Saturday evening.

Alexis Khaler scored two goals for the Wolves giving her four straight games with a goal, and six straight games with at least a point. Helen Kuhn also notched her ninth goal of the season.

Rachel Dillon added her 34th goal of the season, which has her in second place in the South Atlantic Conference. Haley McCusker of Coker sits in first place with 37 so far on the year, netting six in the win.

Despite the loss, Brandy Bowman added to her stellar 2017 recording 18 saves. The sophomore currently ranks first in the conference with 125 saves. She also ranks first in all of Division II Women’s Lacrosse in total saves, and fourth with 11.89 saves per game.

Newberry will continue their three-game road stretch in Georgia when they take on Young Harris on March 22. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
