CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Newberry men’s tennis defeats Johnson C. Smith 8-1 to continue its four-game winning streak Sunday at the Coleman/Cuthberston Tennis Courts.

The Wolves move to 8-2 while Johnson C. Smith drops to 0-4.

Newberry swept all three doubles matches over the Golden Bulls by 8-0 finals. Jordan Monosky and Edison Ambazumjan were winners at No. 1, while Nikhil Mannepalli and Angel Pizzaro collected the win at No. 2. Richard Zeh and Logan Adkins completed the sweep at No. 3 doubles.

Newberry continued its dominance, winning five of six singles flights all in straight sets. Ambazumjan scored a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1, and Monosky won a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 2. Mannepalli recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3, while Adkins was victorious by a 6-1, 6-1 final. Alex Amble capped off Newberry’s win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5.

The Wolves will travel to Erskine (1-6) tomorrow for a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m. Newberry defeated Erskine 9-0 on Oct. 3.
