COLUMBIA — The Newberry men’s tennis team moved to 8-2 on the season with a 9-0 sweep of Benedict Saturday morning at Southeast Park. The Wolves have now won three-straight matches.

Newberry won with ease in its opening doubles matches against Benedict (2-5) as Edison Ambarzumjan and Jordan Monosky scored an 8-2 win at No. 1.

Nikhil Mannepalli and Angel Pizarro claimed an 8-3 victory at No. 2, and Richard Zeh and Logan Atkins finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-1 at No. 3.

The Wolves also swept through singles play in straight sets as Ambarzumjan (6-4, 6-3), Monosky (6-1, 6-0), Mannepalli (6-3, 6-4), Pizarro (6-1, 6-0), Amble (6-2, 6-2), and Zeh (Forfeit) were all victorious at No. 1 through No. 6 singles.
