NEWBERRY — The Newberry College women’s basketball team is set to face off against non-conference foe, the Claflin University Panthers, on Saturday.

Tip-off has been moved to 2 p.m. from the originally scheduled 7 p.m.

Newberry is coming off their first 3-0 start since two years ago when they began the 2014-15 season with five straight wins.

In the first three games, Wolves’ sophomore Meg Essex is averaging 16.0 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Junior guard Samara Hill is averaging 14.7 ppg and 5.3 rpg.

The Wolves are looking to avenge their 65-64 loss that came in Orangeburg last season.

Newberry faced their first conference opponent of the new campaign as they traveled to Charlotte, N.C. to take on Queens on Tuesday.
