With Saturday’s come-from-behind win over Wingate, Newberry became the 16th team in South Atlantic Conference history to win the league with an undefeated record.

Newberry’s most recent conference title came during the 2008 season, when Newberry finished in a three-way tie for first with Tusculum and Carson-Newman at 5-2. The Wolves had not won an outright conference title since finishing 6-1 in 2006.

Newberry has now tied a school record with 10 straight wins overall that stood since 2006. The Wolves have also extended their school record with a 10th consecutive conference win, a mark that will stretch into next season.

The Wolves will wear scarlet jerseys with gray pants vs. Tuskegee, which was the only jersey and pant combination that Newberry did not don during the regular season. Newberry wore all white on three occasions, all scarlet twice, and wore all other combinations once.
