NEWBERRY — Newberry College will host the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Field Hockey League Conference Tournament Nov. 4-6 at Setzler Field.
Lindenwood (14-3, 7-1 ECAC) is the No. 1 seed for the tournament after winning the ECAC regular season title outright. The Lions are riding a six-game winning streak after defeating Bellarmine on Oct. 29. Lindenwood is facing off against No. 4 Mercy (7-11, 2-6 ECAC) after the Mavericks defeated Newberry on the final day of the regular season to clinch a conference tournament berth. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m. EST.
Bellarmine (12-6, 5-3 ECAC) will be the No. 2 seed after winning a tie-breaking coin flip. The Knights are coming off a 2-0 loss to Lindenwood last Saturday. No. 3 Limestone (10-8, 5-3 ECAC) will face off against the Knights after splitting two head-to-head meetings during the regular season. The two teams will square off in the first semifinal scheduled for 4 p.m. EST.
The winners of the two semifinals will meet for the ECAC DII Field Hockey League Championship on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. EST. A third-place game will be contested at 10:30 a.m. EST.
