ELGIN — The Newberry Wolves women’s golf team sat in sixth place out of 12 teams in day one of the Newberry College Regional Preview at The Members Club at Woodcreek in Elgin.
Taylor Lance was leading the way for Newberry, shooting four-over in the tournament en route to a tie for 16th place. Lance was seven shots behind individual leader Paloma Vaccaro of West Florida.
Annabelle Dallery and Nabila Inak were right behind Lance shooting five-over 77 after day one of the tournament.
Karly Mims sat at seven-over 79 for the tournament.
West Florida and Florida Tech were the leaders after day one of the tournament finishing with totals of six-over. Newberry College was 15 shots back of the lead.
The Wolves were ahead of all South Atlantic Conference teams competing in the tournament in Carson-Newman, Tusculum and Wingate.
