COLUMBIA — The Queens Royals finished with all five of their runners in the top 11, which included taking the first four positions of Saturday morning’s 5k race at the Sandhills Research and Education Center.

Emily Shuler led the way for Newberry finishing 44th overall with a time of 21:06.9.

Rounding out the Newberry top 5 was Michelle Ling with a time of 21:22.6, Brittani Barratt at 22:12.3, Rebecca Burkhart at 22:33.9, and Hayden Francis finishing with a time of 22:38.9.

Also competing for Newberry was Alyssa White (24:30.7) and Katy Crout (25:20.6)

Corinne Kule of Queens was named the Women’s SAC Runner of the Year after completing the meet in a time of 17:57.6. Natane Deruytter, Lucie Noall and Hannah Wolkenhauer finished in the second, third and fourth spots respectively. Mandi Moxie rounded out the five Wingate runners, finishing 11th.

The Royals’ push in the second mile was key in Queens 21-point finish. Second-place Wingate finished with 47 points, which included placing four runners in the top 15. Anderson rounded out the top three teams with 77 points.

In fourth place was the Catawba Catawba Indians with 127 points, followed by Carson-Newman with 181 points, Lenoir-Rhyne at 187 points, Lincoln Memorial with 222 points, and Mars Hill finishing with 223 points.

Rounding out the conference were Tusculum (240), Newberry (267), Coker (279) and Brevard (325).
