DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The Newberry women’s golf team improved by a position on the leader board during Tuesday afternoon’s final round of the LeeAnn Noble Memorial hosted by North Georgia, finishing ninth of the 13 participating teams.

Nabila Inak vaulted into the top 10 with a two-over 74 on Tuesday, Newberry’s lowest round of the season and a two-stroke improvement over her first-round score. She finished the day in ninth, eight positions higher on the leader board than she started. Inak has now earned two top-10 finishes in three events this season.

Karly Mims and Taylor Lance each placed 35th in the final standings at 13 over par. Annabelle Dallery improved by six spots to 45th, finishing at 18 over, while Johana Lunackova jumped five spots to 56th at 25 over.

In all, the Wolves followed up Monday’s 312 with a 26-over 314 on Tuesday to cap off a consistent tournament and move into a tie with West Alabama. Newberry finished six strokes behind host North Georgia.

Newberry was the second of the three South Atlantic Conference teams in attendance and completed the tournament in 41 fewer strokes than 11th-place Catawba. Lincoln Memorial was 16 strokes ahead of the Wolves, tying with Young Harris for fourth place. Montevallo won the event at 15 strokes over par, setting a new tournament team scoring record behind Elaine Wood’s single-round (68) and 36-hole (137) individual records.

Newberry will take next week off before returning to action at the South Regional Preview, an event the Wolves will host, at The Member’s Club in Columbia.
