NEWBERRY – Newberry College head men’s basketball coach Dave Davis will be a presenter at two different coaching clinics this weekend in the Virginia and Washington, D.C. areas.

On Saturday, Davis will speak about the Wolves’ up-tempo style, which scored 94.4 points per game during the 2015-16 season. On Sunday, Davis will give instruction on the press defenses employed by the Wolves which forced 303 steals in 2015-16. He will also give a session on Newberry’s fast break.

Davis joins Bobby Lutz, who gave Davis his start in the collegiate ranks at Pfeiffer. The clinic will also include coaches from the staffs of VCU, Pittsburgh, Washington and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Last week Davis also hosted Newberry College’s annual coaches clinic which brought in college and high school coaches from throughout the Southeast region.

“It was an outstanding clinic offering top notch professional development for our college and high school coaches from the area. It was also a great way for basketball coaches from many different levels to share ideas,” said Davis.

Presenters included South Carolina’s Matt Figger, Clemson’s Lucas McKay, the Citadel’s Daniel Willis and UNC Wilmington’s Thomas Carr who was a former player under Davis.
