PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina High School JV volleyball team won both games at Columbia High School on Aug. 30 by a score of 25-10. The win included play from second string team members.

On Sept. 7, the JV Rebels topped Columbia with finals of 25-8 and 25-13.

The junior varsity volleyball team defeated non-region opponent Columbia Capitals 2-0 on September 7 then lost a close match with the Union County Yellow Jackets 0-2 with close match scores.

The JV Lady Rebels were to play Broome on Tuesday. Scores were not available at press time.

Freshman Maddie Huffstetler ran her fastest race of the year with a time of 21 minutes and 10th-grader Alana Eargle completed the tough Sandhills course in 25 minutes. Freshman Drew Bunce ran the course in 24 minutes.
