Canadian superstar band coming to Opera House NEWBERRY — The Newberry Opera House will host Leahy, a Canadian superstar band with a unique and exciting mix of folk, country and Celtic band music on March 10 at 3 p.m.

College to increase marching band NEWBERRY — Newberry College plans to increase the marching band’s size from 80 to 125 students by fall 2013.
This will be an opportunity for prospective students who want to continue in marching band after finishing high school, but would prefer the environment of a small school like Newberry versus the environment of a large school.
Newberry College is the only Lutheran college in the country with its own marching band.

College hosts jazz festival Saturday The Newberry College Jazz Band played during the 56th annual Jazz Festival held Saturday afternoon. The Newberry College Jazz Festival is one of the oldest festivals in the nation and is held in collaboration with the S.C.
