Newberry Elementary has welcomed their new secretary/bookkeeper, Christie Knight, Knight is new to the Newberry County School District and is steadily working throughout the summer in preparation for a new school year. Knight lives in Newberry with her husband and four children. Knight says she loves the school’s environment loves being a part of a school whose mission it is to embrace every child.

A LARGE ALLIGATOR SNAPPER TURTLE POSSIBLY 80 YRS. OLD. HE WAS DISCOVERED IN A DRIVEWAY ON SILAS ST. THURSDAY AFTERNOON. AN OFFICER WAS FLAGGED DOWN AND HE SENT FOR A DNR OFFICER. THE DNR OFFICER WAS ABLE TO GET THE TURTLE IN A TUB, AND NOTED THIS WAS THE THIRD ONE THIS YEAR HE HAS PICKED UP.
