The Newberry College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the All-Sports Pep Rally on the Portico on Wednesday at the Holland Hall Portico on the campus of Newberry College.
The Pep Rally on the portico will begin at 7:30 p.m. and include introductions of all 17 of Newberry College’s competitive teams and coaches.
This free event will include an introduction and history of the Victory Bell from Newberry College Interim Director of Athletics Matt Finley, as well as a word from Newberry College President Dr. Maurice Scherrens.
Wednesday night’s event will also include a fall sports introduction from head football coach Todd Knight, a look at winter sports with head men’s basketball coach Dave Davis and a spring sports primer from head baseball coach Russell Triplett.
“We are very excited about creating a Newberry College tradition with the event on Wednesday and the return of the Newberry College Victory Bell,” Newberry head cheerleading coach Lindsey Barwick said. “We hope this event will bring more attention to the success of Newberry College athletics and reinvigorate the spirit within the Newberry campus and Newberry community.”
In addition to the scheduled speakers, the Newberry College pep band and cheerleaders will perform the fight song and alma mater.
Newberry cheerleaders and Scar will have T-shirts to give away to attendees of the event.
