Wolves run well at UNC Charlotte Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Newberry Wolves cross country teams put together some strong performances in a massive field at the Charlotte Invitational in McAlpine Park on Friday evening.

WOMEN’S 6k

Defending SAC Runner of the Week Jessie Baldwin (Camden) led the Wolves in their first 6k of the season. Baldwin was the eighth-fastest Division II runner and finished 134th in the 233-runner field, which was made up mostly of Division I athletes. She finished the course in 24:42.

Rebecca Eddy was 202nd at 28:34, Ariel Strong was 209th at 29:54, Kelley Strong was 219th at 31:42, Hannah Rohrer was 225th at 33:34 and Diana Terrell was 229th at 36:45.

In the team competition, Newberry was 29th overall out of 33 teams, but sixth of eight Division II teams. Newberry also finished ahead of one Division I team - Presbyterian.
