School media specialists learn about ‘Impact’

The South Carolina Association of School Librarians hosted their annual conference at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center March 6 through March 8 in Columbia. The conference theme was IMPACT at Your Library, focusing on the use of data to show how school library media centers impact student achievement. The keynote speaker was Dr. Keith Curry Lance, nationally recognized authority on library data. Six Newberry County media specialists attended the conference. Shown with Dr. Keith Curry Lance are Donna Hagen from Whitmire Community School and Ginna Vedder from Mid-Carolina Middle School.
