Saluda defeats MC

PROSPERITY — Saluda Middle School’s eighth grade football team defeated Mid-Carolina 20-14 on Thursday.

Terrell Long scored a touchdown for the Rebels with 41.3 seconds in the second quarter on a 22 yard run but the extra point attempt was no good.

John Steven Trammell scored a touchdown on a five yard run and Jevon Boyd caught a pass from Corey Stone for the two point conversation.

Boyd had nine carries for 47 yards in the game

Corey Stone was five-for-nine on passing with 66 yards passing, an interception and a fumble.

On defense Iyon Thompson, Long and Zach Hentz each had four tackles.

Long also had a fumble recovery

The team will take on Batesburg-Leesville on Thursday.
