PROSPERITY — As the football season draws to an end each win is important for the Mid-Carolina Rebels as they know wins are needed before the playoffs start.

Abbeville will head to Prosperity to take on the Rebels on Friday.

Coach Louie Alexander knows his team will have their work cut out for them as they take on the 7-1 Abbeville team, who is also 3-0 in the region.

“They are one of the best teams in the state,” said Alexander, whose team is currently 2-6 and has no wins in the region.

The Rebels are also bruised up and could be minus starters like Will Boozer, Ben Chandler and Dante Boyd who have injuries.

But Alexander knows a win or two will help his team make it to the post season.

“We have dug a hole and have to get out of it,” he said.

While there are many scenarios for the playoffs a win would certainly help the Mid-Carolina team with the remaining game next week against in county rival, Newberry.
