MC Middle teams shut out Saluda

PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Middle School girls basketball team is 1-1 after defeating Saluda 32-13 on Thursday. The Mid-Carolina Middle boys also shut out Saluda with a 53-39 win.

Gracen Hester led the young Rebels with 10 points, six rebounds and a steal. Charlsy Traylor scored eight points, had 11 rebounds and had a steal. Alex Fulmer scored five points, made two rebounds, and had five steals for the Rebels.

Jessica Morris scored two points, a rebound, and had a steal. Callie Blanchard made two points and had five rebounds. Taylor Swygert and Katie Coker each had two points and a rebound.

Chazity Count scored a point, had two rebounds and a steal. Mary Helen Alford had two rebounds and two steals. Merical Cromer and Camyrn Long each had two rebounds.

In the boys game, Zachary Hentz was the top scorer with 15 points, a block, 17 rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Keenan Boland and Cade Ruff each followed with 11 points. Ruff added two steals, five assists, and four rebounds while Boland had an assist and a blocked shot.

Other scores included Corey Stone with nine points, a steal, an assist and three rebounds; Iyon Thompson with four points, two steals and seven rebounds; R.J. Wadsworth with two points, six rebounds and two steals; and Jaterran Wise with two points and a rebound.

Jalen Bates Caldwell and Jeb Fulmer each had a steal. Drew Cromer earned a steal, two rebounds, and a blocked shot. Cornelius Gallman recorded a rebound and a steal.
